A day in the life

My day is so varied and full.  I have meetings all day long so it means I’m in meetings a considerable amount which I love for the most part.  It means I’m always communicating with my colleagues.  It’s great to attend meetings where there’s a collaborative approach in which people understand each other and are patient with each other.  Each meeting is so varied and interesting and includes both Quality Management System (QMS) and Regulatory Affairs (RA) activities, Design & Development, Clinical, Sales and Distribution and Manufacturing related issues.  My daily tasks are supported by routine checks on regulations to ensure we are always following the right path and making the right decisions for the company.

Ambition

To create solutions not problems and generally make people’s lives better every day; which includes my colleagues whom I work with and also those who need our medical devices.

We all have personal lives and right now, in the midst of COVID-19 lock-down here in Ireland, the personal has somewhat merged with the working day.  I am fortunate to have an office set up that I use every day and when I finish work, I close the door and don’t use that room for anything other than work.  This gives me a clear separation between work and home life as we are house bound.  I also ensure I take a small walk every day to clear my head and listen to the birds singing and find out how my children are coping with it all as we all take a walk together or a meal together.  I realise how fortunate I am to have a great job, to have a wonderful family and not least, a safe and warm home.
